1. Repurpose Past Work

The king of B2B content marketing strategies. Your business does produce content. Just not always for the purposes of online marketing. You need to think laterally here, come up with great ideas to repurpose existing media into new content for the web. Maybe you had some great graphics designed for a newspaper ad? Maybe you just gave a killer powerpoint presentation to a client? Or maybe you just submitted an article to an industry journal? Whatever you did, get it up online as quickly as possible. Use slideshare, social media or your blog to host it. This is your best opportunity to create great content without breaking the bank!

 

2. Answer Customer Questions On Your Blog

Do you get asked interesting questions at industry events, via email or in passing at meetings and presentations? Ask if your customer minds if you post a Q&A on your blog. Make sure you offer a backlink to your customers website and try not to be too generic. This is a great tactic for targeting those long-tail keywords that your niche market is searching for.

 

3. Create A Glossary Of Terms

4. Ask For A Testimonial (or five!)

Testimonials are a great way to restart a dialogue with your customers. If you’ve produced fantastic work for them in the past then ask them to shout about it. The testimonial doesn’t just have to be on your website, engage the customer on Twitter or Facebook. Create conversations about your work, they travel much further!

 

5. Produce A Case Study

Conducting case studies will help position your business as a thought leader within your industry. They will also help you understand some of the finer details of your previous customer engagements – putting you in a better position to make better business decisions in the future. Make sure your case studies aren’t longer than one page, they contain an assortment of media (not just text), and they identify a problem and explain your (successful) solution.
